£1 Million Challenge
How will the 1MC money be spent?2020-05-03T17:45:25+01:00

A number of people have asked this same question in many different ways as follows.

“What is the 1MC money for?”
“How will the 1MC money be spent?”
“How will the 1MC money help?”
“The video was not clear on what the 1MC money is for, so could you clarify?”

The simple answer is that we have encapsulated the main needs for the money for simplicity into the following 9 areas where we are disproportionately represented as a community:

  • Agriculture
  • Education
  • Information
  • Health
  • Trade and Commerce
  • Defence
  • Justice
  • Arts and Culture
  • Science and Technology

The more slightly elaborate answer is as follows.  Firstly, it is important to realise that the money has not yet been raised.  There is no £1 million pound to spend at the moment.

The challenge is to raise it. Rather than focusing on something that is not yet there, focus on doing your part to achieve the goal first.  We cannot all have a slice of a cake that we cannot afford the ingredients for yet, let alone bake the cake! That is to say, we cannot plan or allocate what we don’t have until we raise the money.

The video clearly says that once we achieve the goal of raising the £1 Million, we will utilise all the experts and community organisations to formulate short and long-term strategies. They will be commissioned with a budget from the funds to deliver the various services needed with priority given to emergency needs.

Young People

The future lies in the hands of our young people.  We must therefore nurture, encourage, motivate and empower them to be the best they can be by leaving them a legacy.   We have to provide and equip them with knowledge rather than education (edited-diction).  Encourage them to be at the forefront of technology, learn a trade and have skills they can convert to setting up a viable business than to simply go to university for the simple purpose of getting a certificate (or piece of paper) that does not guarantee a job or that they have actually learned anything from acquiring years of student debt. Don’t get it wrong, we are not saying there’s no value in going to university, it just isn’t for everyone.  Some young people benefit more from say an apprenticeship than academic study.

Here at Nashat we facilitate the proper nurturing of children and young people by recognising that we need to first support parents or soon to be young parents so that they can in turn be empowered with the proper tools to pass on to their offspring.  Although the emphasis is on the children, we do not neglect the young-adults.  We know that in order to break the cycle we need to start early.  We provide activities and facilities to engage young-adults, fuel their creativity and help them decide the path they want to take to become responsible members of the community with something to give back.  We are passionate about the future generation because they are our future.  If you are also as passionate as we are about the future generation then join us in building a long-lasting legacy for them.

The Elderly

We can learn so much from our elders so lets look after them and preserve their legacies.  They have a lot of wisdom to share.  We support the elders with workshops and activities to keep them active and sociable with their peers.  We would like to do a lot more by providing care services, helping them with shopping and other odd-jobs.
