How will the 1MC money be spent?2020-05-03T17:45:25+01:00

A number of people have asked this same question in many different ways as follows.

“What is the 1MC money for?”
“How will the 1MC money be spent?”
“How will the 1MC money help?”
“The video was not clear on what the 1MC money is for, so could you clarify?”

The simple answer is that we have encapsulated the main needs for the money for simplicity into the following 9 areas where we are disproportionately represented as a community:

  • Agriculture
  • Education
  • Information
  • Health
  • Trade and Commerce
  • Defence
  • Justice
  • Arts and Culture
  • Science and Technology

The more slightly elaborate answer is as follows.  Firstly, it is important to realise that the money has not yet been raised.  There is no £1 million pound to spend at the moment.

The challenge is to raise it. Rather than focusing on something that is not yet there, focus on doing your part to achieve the goal first.  We cannot all have a slice of a cake that we cannot afford the ingredients for yet, let alone bake the cake! That is to say, we cannot plan or allocate what we don’t have until we raise the money.

The video clearly says that once we achieve the goal of raising the £1 Million, we will utilise all the experts and community organisations to formulate short and long-term strategies. They will be commissioned with a budget from the funds to deliver the various services needed with priority given to emergency needs.

What is the fundraising money for?2020-04-20T15:59:17+01:00

During this unprecedented time with the Coronavirus (COVID 19), your assistance ensures that we can provide economic and emergency relief and continue to deliver our very much needed community projects to support young peopleentrepreneurs and the elderly.  This includes but by all means not limited to the following:

  • Point of call for alternative natural holistic health remedies (particularly for the immune system)
  • Collaborate with local and national support and delivery partners to help those in critical need
  • Support those who have lost loved ones with moral and financial help
  • Engaging and commissioning community activists, experts and solution advocates
  • Offer practical advice and consultation to support people dealing with stress and anxiety, including sign-posting
  • Continue to distribute food through our food bank in the short-term. Long-term we plan to expand our investments in farming to grow food and distribute via our wholesale outlet.
  • Help with transferable skills to online jobs, working from home, especially for those facing job loss
  • Providing refurbished laptops to children for home schooling
  • New ways of working and investing in emerging technologies such as cryptocurrencies and the likes
  • Continue to adapt and deliver our programmes online during the lock-down to reach more people
  • Keep people fit and healthy through our online workshops on nutrition and well-being

and so much more…
